Learning Club: Nu-Roots programme
Are you a film fan?
Do you fancy getting involved in a fun, unique learning project which will give you film curation skills and the chance to showcase your creations?
Our Learning Club is partnering with The Showroom Cinema in Sheffield to run Nu-Roots, a young Black film curators programme, to kick-start our new Learning Club and inspire the next generation of film curators.
This is an exciting eight-week programme for 9-18 year olds, based at our Creative Hub on Rockingham Gate in Sheffield.
Taking place every Saturday, 12 noon-3pm, from September 14th to November 2nd, the Nu-Roots programme will conclude with a screening of films to mark Black History Month.
Young leaders from Utopia Theatre and The Showroom are co-producing the sessions, which will be designed to empower and upskill everyone who wants to curate powerful stories of black empowerment.
Places are limited to 15 and it is expected attendees will join every week to complete this exciting programme.
Book your FREE place online here.
Please note that places are expected to be in demand, so we will also be operating a waiting list. Email info@utopiatheatre.co.uk if you’d like more details.
Our Learning Club will run year-round on Saturdays, and once the Nu Roots programme has concluded we will announce the new topic. To find out about other programmes we run for young people, visit: www.utopiatheatre.co.uk/youth-academy/
Our Learning Club is kindly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the Freemasonry and Lieutenancies Partnership Fund. Meanwhile, our All in One Interactive Whiteboard used in sessions has been purchased with a grant from Freshgate Trust Foundation. Our thanks to all organisations for their continued support.
